Cookies Notice
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on the Program Backed website, why we use them, and how you can control them. It supplements our Privacy Notice.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a site. Cookies let the site remember information about your visit — for example, that you are signed in to an enrolment session, or which cohort you were reading about. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags; we use "cookies" as a shorthand for all of them in this notice.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
These cookies are required for the site to work. They keep you signed in during enrolment, protect the enrolment form against automated abuse, and preserve your selection as you move between pages. Strictly necessary cookies are set on every visit because the site cannot function without them.
- Session identifier — expires when you close your browser.
- Enrolment state — expires after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Anti-forgery token — expires with the session.
Functional
These remember preferences you have chosen — for example, whether you have dismissed a notice, or which language you prefer. They are set when you interact with the feature they support.
Analytics
These help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We measure page views, referral sources, and aggregate performance. Analytics cookies are set only if you consent to them when prompted.
Payments
Stripe, our payments processor, may set cookies on the enrolment page to prevent fraud and to complete a payment session. These are controlled by Stripe under its own privacy policy.
3. Controlling cookies
- You can accept, reject, or manage non-essential cookies through the banner shown on your first visit and through the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
- Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so may break parts of the site that rely on strictly necessary cookies.
- To opt out of Stripe fraud-prevention cookies, you would need to complete payment through a different channel; ask us at info@programbacked.com.
